Police have a job, to protect and serve the public. As harsh as this is going to sound, their job isn't to make it home at the end of the day. They take a hard job, but not even top 5 in danger, yet they have crafted policy and procedure designed to get them home often at the expense of the public. If you're an officer and you don't know the difference between a Taser and a fucking handgun, you need to be a clerk at Walmart, not in charge of deciding who lives and who dies.
