  1. If I had a magic wand that could make anything I want to happen politically, I would immediately get rid of the party system entirely. I would follow that up with removing ideological "news" sources in favor of actual useful information being put out. I'd completely reshape voting districts to be more cohesive. No more Gerry's Salamanders aka gerrymandering. I know all of that wouldn't immediately fix our problems, but it'd be a good start.
