  1. It wasn't just that they mispronounced it and then accepted correction to then say it correctly. They'd be corrected, told how to pronounce her name correctly, and then continue mispronouncing it. Sometimes, they'd even go so far as to say they had a right to mispronounce her name, as though she didn't deserve the dignity of speaking her name correctly. I've mispronounced people's names, sometimes to their face. But I never had the audacity to demand they just accept my mispronunciation, as though I had the right to change their name.
