Morgan Stanley seems to be employing a liberal dose of enlightened self interest here. They want to make money, that's their job as it were, but they realize that protecting human lives during this pandemic, aside from being morally and ethically correct, it's just good business. Creating stability, ensuring their customers don't start dying off, ensuring their customers don't drain their accounts staying alive, all protect their bottom line.
