There's a functional difference between wealth and rich. They're often used synonymously, but wealth usually refers to property while rich refers to liquid assets. Most wealthy people are technically cash poor, relatively speaking (they always have more spending cash than you or I would). But a sudden half a billion-dollar expenditure is going to do the same to any wealthy billionaire. All of Trump's wealth appears to be tied up in real estate, and I get why he wouldn't want to liquidate those assets. Well, Donny boy, tough. If you can't pay the fine, don't do the crime.
