  1. Never let the perfect become the enemy oft the good. Too often we allow our desire for our greatest desires cloud our judgement and send us out to fight battles that might feel good in the moment but that don't help us in the long run. Get Joe Biden in, pull the system back toward the center, then slowly and carefully start pulling the system leftward. Hard jolts freak people out and hamstring any temporary good they produce.
