  1. Britain ended slavery long before the US and even went so far as to blockade the west coast of Africa to stymie the slave trade. Yeah, we ended slavery here, after the civil war, and we need to get past that part of our history, but we're still dealing with the aftermath of Jim Crow. To be charitable, she wants to stop being blamed today for the crimes of people who came before, and I agree with that point. No black person in this country alive today was a slave, and no white person alive today owned slaves. The rhetoric being used by the left (I count myself among their numbers) needs to leave that behind, if for no other reason than to shut down these zombie talking points from the right.
