Just because a man tells a story with all the grittiness of a typical human's recollect, the gaps, the subtle changing of detail, the unique phraseology used with fresh telling of the story do not mean that said story is either genuine or true. These are things believers grasp at in the absolute absence of facts. If the government really were experimenting with these sorts of alien tech, they were doing so in a clandestine facility or facilities, this man was involved, and the government believed him a genuine threat (enough to raid his home or business), then they wouldn't allow him on ANY platform to speak his mind. They'd have had him killed and his body disappeared. Remember, the ability for a secret to be maintained is inversely proportional to the number of people holding said secret.
