  1. Can I just say how terrible an idea this really is? It's a purely desperation tactic that could have potentially worse problems than the ones they're intended to solve. We have this problem as a species. We move forward with a new solution to an old problem without first considering all the potential negative consequences, lurching from one disaster to the next, trying to clean up from the last "solution" to a problem we had that could and should have been tackled from a totally different angle by completely different means. The only solutions to major man-made disasters that really worked with no drawbacks for us were ending the use of tetraethyllead in our gasoline, and ending the use of CFC (both chemicals invented by the same man, BTW). And that wasn't creating a new thing to replace an old one, that was simply ending the use of a very harmful chemical. Spraying stuff into the atmosphere is a horrible idea that will come back to bite us right in the ass.
