  1. If a television network is only getting money from the small amount coming from cable and satellite subscriptions, that network is going to go off air quickly. They need ad revenue and that revenue is wholly dependent on viewership. Yes, some of my cable subscription is going to things I don't watch and things I don't like, but so is my tax money. I understand that I HAVE to pay my taxes and don't my cable, but it's cheaper to get cable for the shows I watch than it is to pay for each program I like piecemeal.
