I love the argument that businesses will leave if they're forced to pay higher taxes. It's like that kid who, when he's not winning, threatens to take his ball and run home. These businesses want the protection of the government, which taxes pay to keep functioning, but then don't want to pay for any of that protection themselves. If they DIDN'T have the government protecting them, they'd have to shell out a large sum of money, larger than any taxes they'd have to pay, in order to pay for all sorts of different protection. It's a hollow threat, and we should call their bluff.
