This reminds me of a South Park episode. Eric Cartman learns of the condition Tourettes Syndrome and starts emulating it by saying the filthiest and most hateful thinks he can whenever he wants. Thing is, he starts saying anything that wanders into his mind, even private things he wouldn't want anyone else hearing. This is the Republican party today. They have become so comfortable saying anything they feel like that they now can't stop themselves from saying things that hurt themselves.
