  1. While Russel Brand does have a British accent, it's not the posh, highly educated British accent. He's got an accent that's one or two steps above a very low-class public servant, definitely working-class British at best. Maybe most Americans wouldn't know that, but anyone who's consumed any level of British entertainment would be able to hear the difference. Think the difference between the way a wealthy, Harvard educated man speaks versus some Hillbilly. Not to say one is necessarily smarter than the other, but the Hillbilly is just going to sound, to American ears, less intelligent.
