I will never understand the conservative impulse to push off their own parenting duties onto others. They want the internet, television, videogames, and schools to parent their children, but then they won't do any parenting themselves. When they worry about what their children hear undoing their parenting what they are admitting without realizing is that either their children are easily manipulated or that their parenting is terrible. A good parent is going to make their children capable of holding onto the values they were instilled with. I forget who said it, but I remember someone saying, "if you raise a child right, they'll be decent people even if they were raised in a brothel."
