  1. There's representation and there's representation. One is used in the political sense, as in this senator or representative represents me in government and the other is used to say, "there aren't enough of group X in this institution." We are never, I repeat, NEVER going to have a perfect balance of the latter. We have to stop trying to cut this country up into tiny representative samples of the general population, it serves no one and only strengthens the conservative talking points. It's meddlesome and not at all effective.
