  1. The government isn't meant to direct the church, but the church is also not meant to direct the government. That is what is at the heart of a secular government. What's going to happen when one religion takes over. Think the Baptists will be happy should Catholicism takes over? Honestly, read some history. The Puritans left England because they didn't like England's ruling religion, of course they did the same thing when they got here, set up their own religious theocracy.
