  1. The reason we have a news media to begin with is that it is a full-time job to understand all the nitty gritty details to fully understand any one story. Otherwise, all we get is second and third hand stories, mostly hearsay, and we don't know what's going on. The fact that we have to investigate other people's investigations does not bode well for us. We already have full-time jobs and don't have the time necessary to devote to fact checking news sources, and they depend on that fact.
