Revisionist history has desperately tried to pain The Confederacy as some noble stand in favor of state's rights as opposed to what it was, a temper tantrum fomented by a group of wealthy slave owners so they can stay both wealthy and slave owners. Propaganda convinced poor people that the North was going to destroy their way of life and they fell for it. The idiots today that fly that flag don't know the history, just the tiny parts they want to know, ignoring the rest in favor of their crazy ideology.
