  1. The problem is they keep injecting free-market capitalism into an industry that cannot function as needed within said system. Do No Harm is WHOLLY incompatible with both Caveat Emptor and profiteering. Even beside that point, how do you think the market works? A seller says, "this costs $100," and the buyer says, "that's too much, how about $80?" Now, we don't do that anymore with corporations setting prices and having more power, but that's how they worked originally. Negotiation is part of the free market. Insurance just does it by representing a great number of people, having more power.
