  1. I knew one, literally only one, person who owned a Laserdisc player. But, I DID watch both Terminator 2 and The Shawshank Redemption on it. At the time, I was blown away by the clarity and quality of the picture and sound. Then DVD came out, which I didn't get into myself until PlayStation 2 came out with a built-in DVD movie play function. I remember some doofus telling me that HD-DVD would win the format war, but I knew Blu-ray, with it's superior storage size, would win that one, hands down.
