my parents had an old remington typewriter in there pharmacy back in the 60's. it had a button on the side of the roller that when you pressed it some small claws came out of the roller and you would put the pill label under them then when you let go you would roll the roller around with the label and then type the label for the prescription pills. it looked like an antique back then

gaffers tape has weak adhesive. real duct tape is nashua 357 which is thick with awesome adhesive . but it costs way more

it's terrible for hvac. use aluminum tape. that holds much better .

@StringerNews1 no wrong. aluminum tape is used to seal round ducts that push together with one end crimped that fits inside the smooth end. the crimped piping is not airtight. tape over the joint neatly with aluminum tape and it will seal. these round ducts are used all over housing.

in poor countries the alternative to child labor is starvation. it's not children going to school and just goofing around. it's a complex situation and the west's obsession about it causes perverse solutions. when child labor was stopped in the garment industry many of the girls that lost their jobs had to turn to prostitution to survive. well that worked out well - not!

jay leno has at least 2 steam engines installed in his shop just for fun. they are real not mockups . one is like from 1830's the other a little newer. he uses a modern certified boiler to run them. something like 2.5 million BTU

@matthewlorig6671 48x42 inches is a standard size because it fits trucks and containers well. but there are all kinds of other pallet sizes. wood pallets are made to order by pallet companies . you can get any custom size you want or need if you buy them regularly

the real victims of those were the salesmen/ operators of the machines. a customer was exposed only occasionally but the operators ended up with much radiation exposure.

@moocowdad i am same age i when i visited as a grade school kid i bought a little piece of asbestos in a plastic case at the souvenir stand. used to play with it pulling it apart. luckily i only did that once or twice as i didn't want to destroy the rock.

should look at traffic signal lights and systems in other countries. when i moved to us from canada i was surprised signal lights are hung from wires. very hard to see when you are stopped at a light. in canada the lights are on the opposite side of the intersection on arms on poles. so you need more poles but seing them is much better. they are now changing them here in ny state to be like canada .
