  14.  @row4hb  i started college in 1979 for elec engineering. first semester we used punch cards still. no serious personal computers yet. no laptops for school .ibm pc's didn't come out till mid 1981 so no one had one. by that time they put in a VAX and terminals. so bezos was there when things started to get going. i remember only having 64k of ram and 256k floppies. you had to be very careful with programs to not use to much resources.

  15.  @TheHeavenman88  yes because software is very easy to scale so there is great incentive for companies to write more code . there are just so many things to do in the computer field. there is more work than there are people available. and it increases exponentially. maybe when AI becomes good enough to write more AI then software can really get saturated. other engineering is more limited as they deal in physical things so can't be reproduced so quickly. like some piece of software can be duplicated a million times in short order but to build a million cars takes way more time.
