i think volkswagen said they didn't need to use the blue fluid due to their special technology. other manufacturers had to use the blue fluid in diesels to cut nox emmissions. that's why their cars didn't fail anywhere near as badly as the vw cars in the real world.

@fleyua7176 yes they don't even go 1/4 mile anymore . only 1000 feet ( suck it metric people) because the cars were reaching speeds that were too dangerous and couldn't stop without going off the tracks even with parachutes

yes but the high cost is due to taxes. so with hydrogen if you add the high taxes the price goes much higher.

bamboo grows fast. there are some species that supposedly you can actually see them grow if you watch for an hour. they grow like a foot per day

compressing air is stupid bad inefficeint. something like 80 + % of the energy is lost as heat. that's why you need a 50 hp compressor to run a 5 hp air motor.

this is the one time that i agree with sharea laws. cut off the hand of the thief. if he steals again cut off the other one.

the problem with usa is they don't require robertson ( square recess) screws on all electrical equipment. hands down the best screw for electrical work. never slip . you can stick the screw on the driver, screw down and it won't fall off. it's code in canada.

used to make the new camaros as well until gm closed a bunch of plants.

consumer reports continues their tradition of lying with their tesla reporting.anyone who believes consumer reports is an idiot.

i have an idea. can these things be used to crimp a ferrule on an air hose?? try to do that.

almost all hydrogen today is produced from natural gas. they generally dump the carbon from the nat gas into the atmosphere. so you may as well burn the natural gas. on top of that the cost is way too much. you compare hydrogen cost to gasoline. well electric is way less than gasoline . so electric is way cheaper. also can't fill up hydrogen at home either. another issue is the exotic materials needed for the hydrogen fuel cells. there is not enough of it to make multi millions of cars. forklifts can use hydrogen because of no emisions indoors . the extra cost is not a problem there. in food warehouses forklifts need to be emission free . can't use combustion engines because it will actually permeate into the food and people can taste it.

how do you warranty a lost screwdriver?

@pedromateus4268 it's not coal in 80% of cases. coal only supplies 19% of usa electricity. natural gas is 40 % oil is almost nothing. the rest is nuclear and renewables
1
Triston Stuart 100% wrong. ev's are always better for emissions even with coal powered electricity. do you include the 4800 gigawatt hours/ month of electricity that is used to pump oil in the usa by 450,000 pump jacks???? that is enough for a tesla to drive 19 BILLION MILES PER MONTH

the cost of hydrogen is about 10 times the cost of electricity.the cost of a hydrogen station is like 20 million. the efficiency of the whole cycle is poor since electrolysis is 60% efficient then you have to compress and store the hydrogen, then the fuel cell has losses and to be fast you still need batteries in the vehicle for quick acceleration. and how do you make hydrogen at home? so for now and the forseable future battery electric is the way to go. then the fuel cell use a bunch of expensive materials as catalysts and the supply of those in the world isn't there to make a billion cars. if they started making them in high production the price would go up not down. so economically it's a dumb idea compared to bettery electric. and can the hyperion fit a family of 5.? looks uncomfortable as hell .

i would like the acetone test. which handles are immune to solvents like acetone, mineral spirits , mek, etc.those rubber coatings usually swell in oil as well or get all gooey.

2 years later and hydrogen is now about $25 - $30 / kg

a bunch of these are due to separate teams designing different parts of the cars. like the aztec. the water dripping on the electronic control. i would bet the air conditioning team never even talked to the electronics team. kind of like plumbers not coordinating with hvac or electricians or fire sprinklers when building a building. each is doing his own thing.

why not just do it exactly as watt described it. have a horse pull a weight up a tower . use 550 lbs but measure the speed . also the 1 hp = 550 ft/lb sec may not be as off as they think. Big D was only allowed to do 5 pulls . so if he had to work for a long time the amount of continuous work he could do would likely be in the 1 hp range. watt's engine could run continuously. so he wasn't lying.

jay's model T is in great running shape and they are starting it indoors in california. a real street car in 1900's trying to start in winter would be a different story i'm sure.

12 volt shop?
1
not impressive. build a car that can take 5 people and sell it for 20k at a profit. that's impressive

the nuclear zipties may be resistant to radiation more than the nylon. you guys can't test that. although they clearly take more heat.
