Cornwall was where the very first steam engines were used in the mines to pump out water.

@cmac3530 i don't see why the rancher has to give up much of his land . if a power line goes through they just put some towers . his cows can still graze under the power lines and around the towers. so hardly any land.

all the UK automobile production companies went bankrupt except perhaps specialty companies like morgan.

not just outside. i lived in a 3 floor apt building with 12 units. the gas line rotted out outside. i smelled it called the gas company. they shut off the gas to the building and fixed the outside. then they pressure tested the building which failed. every unit had a forced air gas furnace and water heater. took the owners 3 weeks of working on the system every day to fix all the leaks so the gas could be turned on. so not only do wells leak but many houses and other buildings leak gas.

all cans have a coating inside including all soap cans and anything else. any food in a metal can directly will get a metallic taste. and it's almost always based on Bis A resin which is epoxy.

using tin in solder instead of lead was a big mistake. tin will grow whiskers that shorts out circuit boards . there is no way to stop them even potting in epoxy doesn't help. there have been satellites knocked out because of this. it means any electronics has a certain life before it shorts out and goes bad.

ukraine needs support for building bigger more deadly drones. the russians have factories making the shaheds and lancets and they work on improving the tech. they now have a mothership drone that drops an fpv and acts as a signal repeater . it increases the usabel distance to 40 km.

nope not massive. it was scammers that made fake companies. it was about 10%. and most PPP ( not PPE) went to employees so reduced the unemployment paid to them since they couldn't collect the outrageous 600 a week top up as well as the unemployment. in many states and cities workers were getting more money to stay home. workers learned this philosophy and continued to not work. every business struggles to find employees who will do physical work and show up 5 days a week.

@mike9132 well if he didn't suffer 600k losses during that covid but retained workers then the payment was fraud. there are many fraudsters getting small businesses to file for this fraudulently . they fill out the paper work take a big fee then the owner may get a check . later he may get caught and fined or worse.

believe it or not many buildings including houses have tiny gas leaks . a 12 unit building i lived in had the gas shuttoff then the gas company wouldn't turn it back on untill inside the piping tested no leaks. took 3 weeks of working on it by 2 maintenance guys till they fixed all the tiny leaks. it has to hold 60 psi for 24 hours with no drop.

yet we hear ev sales are tanking. ford can't sell their F150 lightning. they are piling up at dealerships. i think the economy affects this very much as electric cars are expensive and mortgages are now 8% and all goods are up like 50% or more . so who knows if these big bets on electric cars will pay off for manufacturers.

the stock market wants growth in a company . if a company is not growing the price tanks. so ceo's get aggressive with growth strategies and borrow big sums. when rates are a few percent that can work. now the payments become huge and if it's retail , customers are staying away in droves. online has taken over and we know who dominates that. and companies related to retail also see the downside.
