  12. the cost to spacex is vastly over exaggerated . the satellites fly over whether ukraine uses them or not. his " cost" is primarily the " loss " of the revenue he could charge. on top of that he demands like 20k per terminal per month as that is "what it is worth" . so that's way more money than any civilian communication service is worth. it's only worth it for military use. gwen shotwell was also pissed as she had negotiated $137 million from the pentagon when elon just said what the hell they can keep using it for free back when they first wanted $400 million / yr. now i only agree that spacex should get paid by pentagon as for them it's not a huge expense. some reasonable amount since all defense contractors get paid lots of money like raytheon. and if they get paid they have to provide the service with no interruptions

  32. when you see interviews of people who went to work at spacex after working at nasa or other traditional aerospace they tell you that in the past cost was not a factor in a design. but at spacex cost was always a factor in the design. the problem with military procurement is the generals and admirals don't care about the cost of the gear . they want it to do miracles and they will just get congress to give more money. so the equipment builders charge more.

  44. we need more wotrkers . there are shortages of everything and it's primarily due to worker shortages. and it's not about wages . there are not enough workers. there weren't enough before the pandemic and are not enough now. we need to increase legal immigration by 2 or 3 times and stop illegal immigration. and reduce welfare to immigrants who come here. you want to come here and are not a criminal and able to work then ok. here's a work permit and go get a job. don't ask for handouts . if you work, pay taxes and don't commit crimes then you get a green card after say a year or two. then after 5 you can apply for citizenship. if you commit crimes you get kicked out.

  48. the only bans on plastic that is justifiable is one use plastic bags. NY made that illegal and everyone uses reusable bags. i like it better even though i saved a garbage can stuffed with bags before the ban i never use them. the reusable bags are 99 cents but are very sturdy. they last years but best of all you can pack them to the gills and they won't break on you. so i actually only need 1 or 2 . and i am in the plastic molding business so i love plastics.
