  1. the whole idea is cartoonish. till now i thought it was comic book fiction. the whole concept ignores reality. the rock or dirt has to go somewhere . and a nuclear reactor makes heat . it makes electricity by boiling water to make steam. and this all needs a steady supply of cooling water. if it were real, tunnel boring would be happening and elon's dream of multiple tunnels in parallel could happen. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. and it's all about the soil or rock you are tunneling through. if it's full of water and loose dirt then the boring needs to be done with a shield and high pressure mud injected in front of the cutting head . it's super complicated.
