i was in there in 1982 when i had a summer job in the engineering dept at ontario hydro. i worked for 2 engineers and we did an inspection there to see how the new units were progressing. i think unit 6 or 7 is where i was. it was under construction . i remember having to put on tyvek booties and then walking out on top of the reactor where the control rods were . i couldn't tell you what the purpose of the tour was. also remember a pipefitter was covering some pipes with lead pipe split in half about 1 inch thick. he would cover it then solder the 2 halves together.

it can be buried in casks no problem. or reprocessed and reused . these reactors use raw non enriched uranium fuel. very different from what most reactors require. it's candu technology.

the true cause of this is the shoddy bridge protection. since anyone who knows shipping would say what took so long for such an accident? ships lose power all the time. it happens. why there was totally poor bridge pier protection is just due to lack of will to spend the money. they spend money to upgrade the ports but no one thinks, hey, the bridge needs more protection.

walmart should use walton's in quebec . then it's exempt. same blue same symbols. everyone will know it's walmart. and as you enter say - welcome to walmart - in big letters. it's not on the outside so the law doesn't apply.

years ago i tried rechargeable alkaline batteries. after maybe 30 cycles they are gone. other types don't have the correct voltage.

it's not about auto traffic. it's the ship traffic that has to take priority.

why did the us govt fund covid relief for trillions? why not just sue china and wait for insurance to pay.? i would have been fine with that. instead we got hyperinflation . that's the fault of repubs and dems.

@boristheamerican2938 no it was the shoddy bridge protection

yes your doctor can work from home . same with your surgeon. plus your car mechanic and your plumber . office work is not work

also why was there basically no protection for the bridge supports? who built the bridge? why didn't the builders or current owners think that it could get hit by a super container ship??
1
so they should have asked the recycler what is the process of recycling. even though they lost the contract. i assume shredding is involved. easy to get the steel but what about the rest.? also i would like to have seen them test non rechargeable lithium batteries . do they have those in canada?
1
what are you talking about?
1
so the bridge owners should have added new protection. they upgrade the ports but not the bridge protection????
1
there are likely maritime laws that kick in about liability. also why are the owners not liable for such a poor protection design of the bridge supports.
