@4600norm Because they weren’t alone. People have the habit of assuming that it was just Germany but they had a good chunk of Europe under their control and millions of non Germans died fighting for the axis.

@LordDirus007 lend lease for the soviet union from the US did not start before Operation Barbarossa. The USSR was declared eligible for lend lease Nov 7 of 41 long after the initial invasion. Even wikipedia shows that from 41-42 the most crucial years of the conflict (especially 41) lend lease was basically inconsequential in the grand scheme of things. The Soviets blunted the German attack by themselves. What lend lease did help with was the offensives after Germany literally had no chance and were going to lose no matter what.
