@Mz tyty No it wasn’t. It was small trading village founded by Tuaregs who are black as well. When the Malians conquered it they then turned it into a place of learning and major city in the trans Saharan trade route. Vast Majority of the 700,000 or so manuscripts in Timbuktu were written by Malians the rest were imported.

@filiplofgren8023 No back in the day most people in the Middle East were even darker(especially in upper Egypt) pale skin in humans AGAIN is a very recent change. They painted Semites that way not themselves you can clearly see that for most of their history they were olive skinned in lower Egypt and black and brown in upper Egypt. I believe that Egypt was the first multi racial great power.

@TheBayzent depends on which part of the country. I am in the middle an enlightened centrist I believe that upper and lower Egypt were more so influenced by the levant and sudan respectively.
