@dovbarleib3256 This is already a myth literally the top brass of both the army and the navy believed that the bombs were not needed. In reality what the Japanese were hanging onto was wether or not they could keep their emperor. We would not need to invade at all either. They were trying to use the Soviets as a mediator which is also true. The US dropped the bombs the Soviets invaded then we finally allowed them to keep the emperor.
