Attacking the Soviets was just as dumb as an idea. The Japanese would get fucked trying to get through Siberia. Also there was a reason for the preemptive strike on America. Japan needed the resources of south east asia(Philippines) and pacific which would have caused war with the US anyway.
383
@dffndjdjd Why is that? You realize that Siberia is a waste land that still had soviet armies there all throughout out the war? The Japanese got destroyed in a undeclared border conflict. They are not winning in a actual war bro. Even if they make it past the troops on the border do you expect them to reach the urals or something? What would in Siberia would help them continue their war effort?
75
@nandinhocunha440 They had to attack the Philippines and other islands for resources like rubber and oil. It was inevitable.
58
@lucifer2b666 okay
22
@thehindenburg3402 I mean the Nazis did the same thing they invaded for lebensraum and killed a fuck ton of people. The Japanese saw themselves as the superior Asian race so they treated the rest as inferior. You argument is hurting my head. What other reasons did they have to invade besides the ones I listed.
21
@Franky46Boy The Oil in Siberia wasn’t even discovered yet. There was really nothing they would gain.
18
@dffndjdjd Only 3 divisions came from the border with Japan stop spreading misinformation. The Japanese could not beat Russia and even if they did their logistics would be even worse the Germans in the West. You are literally trying to change the fabric of history by changing the motives and reality of the time.
12
@Bullet-Tooth-Tony- Literally impossible for them to actually do it in reality. You are telling me that Japan would be fine against the US, USSR, China, and the UK? Where the fuck are they getting the oil to carry that out? How will the logistics work with the extreme lack of infrastructure? Imagine Germany’s situation with supply times 10 or something. The Russian could literally just commit to hit and run tactics and the Japanese would just die to attrition.
10
@dorianc4490 What in Siberia would cause the Soviets to lose? How would Japan supply the invasion?
8
Dan2314 Wonderluck Only 3 divisions were taken from the border with Japan. The rest were from the urals and other areas in Central Asia which is extremely close to Japan apparently. Do you forget how big the USSR is?
8
They said they could win before winter and that Soviets would fall in a instant. They lost much of their hardened panzer formations and finally realized how shit the logistics would be. It was a total failure. You realize the goal was the AA line right?
6
@artyomarty391 Why do you keep talking about modern Siberia?
6
@Bullet-Tooth-Tony- Yeah but they need the resources in South East Asia and they still want the East Asia co prosperity sphere. Siberia will not help them with shit it would be dumb as fuck to do it.
5
It literally would have been a massacre sending them underequipped into Siberia against the Russians lmaoo.
4
@Bullet-Tooth-Tony- Im sorry but how will they carry out the invasion into Siberia? That attack would literally do nothing to stop the Soviet war effort in reality.
4
@Bullet-Tooth-Tony- Ok now a different point. But could the Japanese utilize that whole force with their massive resource shortage while still at war with China, and India. While also expending massive amounts of Oil and other resources on their Navy? Japan needed resources what in Siberia could help them?
4
Half luck half blitzkrieg.
4
@taejo4975 WHAT IN THE EAST WOULD CAUSE THEM TO LOSE IN THE WEST?
4
@Bullet-Tooth-Tony- And what would the do for the Japanese and how would that hurt the Soviets?
3
@joycechuah6398 But their force got destroyed. That happened many times on the eastern front as well. Casualties aren’t as important as you think.
3
They still would have lost lmaoo.
3
@striker8795 Those were lands that were once apart of the Russian empire and they were to be used as a buffer against invasion.
3
@bosanski_Cevap The Germans did actually take some oil fields but they took months to even try to rebuild them to full capacity and they never did
3
@omega0195 bro stfu
3
@michaeljones9553 Germany had almost all of Europe on their side and got raped lmaoo. Turky and Japan aint doing shit.
3
How the fuck would they conquer it tho?
3
@Accept_Any_Bribe No there was an army kept on the border with Japan the whole war.
3
@Accept_Any_Bribe So tell me how exactly are Japanese forces making it to the place’s he moved the troops from in the first place to have that large of an effect? The Soviets wouldn’t trust a country who they a had a non aggression pact with again.
3
@alfredooclarit4100 Those units came from central asia and the urals. There was a million men on the border with Japan the whole time.
3
@thunderhole2062 The Axis to USSR military death toll isn’t even 2:1. What is the Yamato doing for Japan when fighting 100’s of kilometers in the frozen wastelands of Siberia?
3
@thunderhole2062 Operation Bagration
3
@DabDabGoose The Japanese were similar to the Nazis in ideology. They saw themselves as the superior asian race and committed a lot of atrocities. They were also highly xenophobic. Why are you so invested in them being able to invade Russia when it would literally be suicidal. If it was such a good plan why didn’t they carry out in reality?
2
@sceplicur8817 The Japanese would have gotten crushed in like 1944 then.
2
Germany was woefully inefficient when it came to their production of weapons and materials. They often over engineered everything and had multiple variations of vehicles they didn’t even need.
2
@loganjason6345 Do you realize how big Siberia is lmaoo? They didn’t just come from the Japanese border. There was a force kept their throughout the entire war lmaooo.
2
@cyrusthegreat1893 No there was still a sizable force of troops kept on the actual border with Japan. Those troops came from the Urals and Mongolia.
2
@DabDabGoose The Japanese wouldn’t even make it halfway through Siberia before getting fucked. Infrastructure is non existent, the weather extreme, they would lose more men ti attrition than to the actual Soviets. In this scenario the winter really does beat an enemy.
2
@Bullet-Tooth-Tony- Those troops did not come from the Manchurian border with Japan. Only 3 divisions ever came from there throughout the whole war you are just wrong. A sizable force of troops was still there on the border.
2
@malickfan7461 Only 3 divisions were sent from the border with Japan the rest came from other areas like the Urals and Central Asia. There was a force kept on the border throughout the war.
2
@taejo4975 There was a million men on the border with Japan the WHOLE WAR.
2
@thunderhole2062 So you admit that the Japanese didn’t have the resources to fight the Soviets? Thank you.
2
@adriangaming4853 Japan were still fighting until the end China was still very much around.
1
@Slayer119988 I thought white skin was waayyyy more recent then that?
1
@mr.neworld2031 Lend lease from US really only mattered in 1943 by then Germany was fucked. Also if the Soviets had been prepared at the beginning of the war Germany would have been crushed much sooner. Remember the Soviets were caught in the middle of reorganization and completely by surprise.
1
Lol they caused a million deaths in your country, and the birth of ISIS due to the invasion. Iraq is now worse off than it was under Saddam.
1
@DabDabGoose The Soviets weren’t dumb enough to trust a non aggression pact after Germany again. Look online to see how much troops was kept on the Japanese border.
1
@DabDabGoose They did not move all their troops from the Japanese border bro. Most of the troops from the east were taken from Mongolia and the Urals. Also if the Japanese made it past the border forces what would the Soviets really lose in terms of strategic resources or objectives?
1
@DabDabGoose Most of their industrial areas were moved to the Urals. Cities like Vladivostok were of little importance to the war in the West. I already gave you their eastern pacific cities when the Japanese made it past their border forces. How does this stop Germany from getting fucked and eventually Japan?
1
@DerDop Finland and Romania helped the Nazis, and the Baltics had supported them alot until they started killing everybody. Even then some still supported them.
1
@cyrusthegreat1893 Possibly?
1
@DabDabGoose Do you know how big Siberia is?
1
I disagree with the idea that the Battle of Moscow would have been lost if Japan had invaded. All Those troops weren’t actually stationed on the Manchurian border with Japan. They were from all over Eastern Russia. Remember that Germany had a non aggression pact with the Soviets too and they invaded unannounced. They wouldn’t fall for it again and there were forces kept on the Japanese border throughout the war.
1
@michaeljones9553 How in the fuck would that even happen. Turkey and Japan would get fucked.
1
@roverrange3674 Its became the Germans refused to even equip them with good anti tank equipment and better supplies. The Axis was such a shit fucking alliance. I blame Germany for their failure 100% on that front.
1
@thehorsecockexpress1068 sources? The British and Americans curbed stomped the Germans on the western front.
1
@BatCostumeGuy Nah Germany was still worse than Japan. Germans killed a lot more people due to Poland and the Soviet Union.
1
steve hammond The battle New Orleans happened after the war was over.
1
@brandonlyon730 Mexico wasn’t nearly in its prime lmaoo. It was only 30 years old at that time.
