Blatant lie
18
In an EV, ‘idling’ literally doesn’t exist. Go learn something before you embarrass yourself any further 🙄
10
@ottovonbismarck7094 you’re utterly clueless.
7
They shouldn’t… …people will buy them regardless because they’re a better product.
5
@austinpowers1999 They’re at 5 million now (worldwide).
5
@ZeroKOR1 Tesla are aiming at 1,000,000 miles for the powertrain. Running costs for EVs are massively less than ICE because they require virtually zero maintenance.
5
Even powered from coal, EVs are still 3-4x more efficient than ICE cars, go learn something before you embarrass yourself any further 🙄
5
@astro_bear Nobody’s buying non-Tesla EVs because Teslas are better and usually cheaper.
4
@SkylineFTW97 They aren’t plummeting, they’re 10x every 5 years.
4
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR They will be within a decade. Plane trips of less than 400 miles will be rendered obsolete by robotaxis. Planes will go electric for up to 1,000 miles.
4
@Cool2023FtwNoice well argued 🙄
4
LFP batteries can go 10,000 cycles. Most drivers do less than 40 miles/day so they only need to recharge weekly. Please explain how a battery life of nearly 200 years / 250,000 miles followed by recycling is a problem.
4
@BWolf00 ALL cars struggle in sub-zero temperatures.
4
@TitoBoy1968 Teslas are fine, you not knowing that just tells everyone here that you’re clueless.
3
@marsmars9130 Go lookup the figures before you embarrass yourself any further 🙄
3
@minutemanhomestead7214 The FACTS prove otherwise and don’t care about your feelings.
3
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR I’ve already stated that ALL government subsidies should be removed. Suitable EV vehicles for the motorcade do not currently exist, when they do then they’ll use them.
3
@sylviam6535 Not significantly, you’re clueless.
3
@ottovonbismarck7094 The CyberTruck bed is 6’. The F-150 with a comparable cab is 5’ 6”.
3
@donreinke5863 Lithium-ion pouch cells are a fire risk. LFP or metal canned cells are not.
2
@RYTHMICRIOT They’re selling off EV cars at 2 years, just like they do with ALL cars.
2
@donreinke5863 Ad hominem
2
@BWolf00 So you don’t know about all the frozen gas pumps then 🙄
2
@CleeInMontana ALL cars struggle in such outlier conditions, pretending otherwise is either delusional or deliberately disingenuous.
2
@donreinke5863 ICE cars catch fire more then EVs.
2
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR It takes time and money to design and produce new form factors. Motorcade vehicles are an extreme edge case unlikely to be addressed for a while. If all you need is an SUV then the Tesla-Y is a good choice.
2
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR You’re wrong, the Tesla-Y is the best selling car worldwide and it’s sales will probably grow another 30% in 2024. Then in 2025 we get the Tesla Compact coming out at $25,000.
2
@BaltimoreAndOhioRR Hertz CEO: “At some point, the reality of EVs and Teslas being the best selling car, will at some point render them the best rental car”. Interesting that you change the subject whenever you lose the argument. You’re clueless.
2
@SkylineFTW97 grow up
2
@SkylineFTW97 get a life 🙄
2
@ZeroKOR1 CyberTruck has a bigger bed than the F-150
2
@JonHop1 Yet strangely the Tesla-Y is the best selling car on the planet, even in Scandinavia 🤔 And EVs are 3-4x the efficiency of ICE so the more EVs there are, the less the total fuel consumption, rather the opposite of ‘double’. Your math isn’t basic, it’s hopelessly wrong.
2
@JonHop1 Blatant lie. Toxicity has nothing to do with recycling. Lead-acid batteries have been recycled for decades 🙄
2
@georgehenderson7783 The CyberTruck has more US content than GM or Ford.
2
@I_amFrankEinstein The term 'rare-earth' is a misnomer because they are not actually scarce. Historically it took a long time to isolate these elements. Go learn something before you embarrass yourself any further 🙄
2
@swampsagacity4685 No they don’t, a common driver error is pressing on the accelerator instead of the brake. This happens in all cars 🙄
2
@ancientsociety79 It doesn’t matter, EVs are still 3-4x more efficient.
2
LFP batteries don’t contain cobalt 🙄
1
@donreinke5863 Tesla only uses LFP or Li-ion in cans in their batteries and do NOT have fires. All the fires are cars with Li-ion pouch cells . Elon Musk publicly warned car companies NOT to use pouch cells because of the fire risk. Go see for yourself.
1
@bobsmith6544 Facts don’t care about your misinformed opinions 🙄
1
LFP batteries can go 10,000 cycles. Most drivers do less than 40 miles/day so they only need to recharge weekly. Please explain how a battery life of nearly 200 years followed by recycling is a problem.
1
It would still be much cheaper than gas.
1
What emissions?
1
@ottovonbismarck7094 get a brain
1
@keyser456 they get recycled
1
@JonHop1 source?
1
@JonHop1 Sure, you really need to do oil changes on an EV 🙄 You’re clueless
1
@N0ZYnate Blatant nonsense. Over 95% of EVs are charged at home overnight when the grid has plenty of capacity. If every car became an EV it would add 7% load on the grid which is easily handled.
1
@Utsu-P_Enjoyer Teslas on average are now cheaper than the average new car in the US.
1
@GamingProspector84 blatant lie. An impact enough to damage a Tesla battery would kill everyone in a normal ICE car.
1
@dajona7860 they’re still 3-4x more efficient 🙄
1
@malcolmwhite6588 I was wrong, the 7% is for the U.K. It’s 3.5% for the US. Cars in the US do less than 40 miles/day on average. A Tesla-3 does 4 miles/kWh,so it uses 10 kWh/day. There’s 14 million cars in the US. 14 million cars would require 140 gWh to recharge per day. That 51,000 gWh/year. That’s 3.5% of the 1,470,000 gWh generated a year in the US. Go see for yourself, all the figures are public.
1
@malcolmwhite6588 I was wrong, the 3-4x figure is for Europe. For the US, ICE cars have a much poorer mpg. In the US, EVs are 6x more efficient than ICE cars. There’s 33 kWh in a gallon of gasoline. A Tesla-3 does 4 miles/kWh. So the car does the equivalent of 132 miles per gallon. The average US ICE car does 21 mpg. 132 is more than 6x 21. Go see for yourself, all the figures are public.
1
@malcolmwhite6588 I just showed you that the additional load on the grid is only 3.5%. Over 95% of EVs are recharged at home overnight when there’s plenty of capacity (that’s WHY the electricity is cheaper at night). Please stop posting nonsense and look up the figures for yourself.
1
@malcolmwhite6588 I showed you my calculations, you’re welcome to point out any errors. I carefully explained that the 7% figure was for the U.K. You really are utterly vile, constantly making ridiculous claims with no figures to back them up at all. You have no interest in the truth whatsoever. You’re just a mindless troll. It’s not my fault you’re incapable of navigating the comments like normal people 🙄
1
@malcolmwhite3567 We were discussing cars, not all vehicles. There’s currently around 2.5 million EVs in the US. The number of other vehicles that are currently electric isn’t significant.
1
@malcolmwhite3567 Although the US currently generates 1,470,000 gWh/year it has the CAPACITY to generate 9,640,000 gWh/year, this is because it has to be able to handle peak loads. For all 280 million vehicles, is 20x more energy required, while the grid capacity is 6.6x. So we’re at 10% of grid capacity instead of 3.5%. That’s still fine because most EVs charge overnight.
1
@N0ZYnate Given that EVs are 4-5x more efficient that ICE vehicles regardless of the source of the electricity, to claim that the total fossil fuel consumption would double is obvious nonsense. You’re clueless Blocked
1
Blatant lie, it was BMW.
1
Yet strangely the Tesla-Y is the best selling car in the world… …INCLUDING Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
1
In some places EV insurance is less than ICE.
1
LFP batteries can go 10,000 cycles. Most drivers do less than 40 miles/day so they only need to recharge weekly. Please explain how a battery life of nearly 200 years or 2,500,000 miles followed by recycling is a problem.
1
@nojuanatall3281 There aren’t 🙄
1
@EcceHomo1088 Grow up, you know exactly what I mean. Also Teslas are the safest cars.
1
@EcceHomo1088 You realise Teslas have the most US content, you really are utterly clueless.
1
@arachnipope No, he’s wrong 🙄
1
@robertbeisert3315 Wow, you really are clueless.
1
@madtabby66 grow up
1
Fusion power doesn’t exist and is always ‘only 20 years away’.
