  2. An often overlooked aspect of H.G.Wells ‘The Time Machine’ is that the Morlocks did all the work - producing the food, clothes etc., the Eloi just played around all day. In the (original) film the Morlocks are portrayed as ugly and unintelligent while the Eloi are beautiful and clever.

  5. Another rapidly developing problem is AI, in the next decade it’s going to totally wipe out huge swathes of previously well paid jobs. Obvious examples being accounting and lawyers.

  7. Ireland is a failed state, they just haven’t realised it yet. Within 50 years it will be Sharia. Where Northern Ireland fits into this I have no idea, it appears that currently the Catholics are outbreeding the Protestants so I’m guessing we’ll see reunification within 10 years.
