  2. I totally agree but... 1) It’s incredible how quickly knowledge like that becomes obsolete. 2) In some locations, rewiring a socket yourself would actually be illegal! (Crazy, I know). For example: Some kId’s toys continued to have a phone dialling mechanism (presumably to familiarise them with how they worked), long after anybody had them in the real world.

  3. To be fair, many devices like can openers are mostly designed for right handed people. Left handed people often have problems using them as a result. The proof of this is the existence of specialist shops so the Lefties can buy products designed for them. They then take great delight in giving them to Righties and watching their struggles.
