The lab itself was originally a joint effort between China and France, France withdrew from the project because the construction wasn’t of sufficient quality for a Level-4 facility. Also… The last outbreak of Foot&Mouth in the U.K. was a lab leak. The last recorded death from Smallpox was a lab leak.
