Y-chromosomes travel totally undiluted down the male line, and mitochondrial dna travels totally undiluted down the female line.

@BuildBackNormal no it isn’t, you are literally wrong, as I have clearly explained above.
11
@jessicali8594 1) Racial characteristics will be scattered all over the genome, to claim there won’t be any in the Y chromosome is ridiculous. 2) Random mutations in the mitochondrial DNA is a major tool in determining ancestry. 3) I made no claim about haemophilia, I have no idea why you brought it up. 4) To claim all hereditary diseases are only passed down the female line is very obviously nonsense.
7
katy there are several dangerous hereditary diseases associated with both, to pretend they can’t have a major impact is delusional.
6
@saxoncelt9823 Lineage simply doesn’t work like that. Raising 2 to the power of the number of generations to obtain the number of ancestors is very obviously totally stupid and produces a hugely inflated number due to marriages between relatives (hopefully not too closely related). Inbreeding is a particular problem with royal families, I don’t expect Charlotte was particularly different.
6
@saxoncelt9823 that depends on her lineage, genetics isn’t as simple as mathematical division.
5
Not if you look at the photographs of the painting BEFORE they were photoshopped.
5
Which hilariously probably makes her whiter than most Europeans alive today!

@andrewhayes5724 all you’re doing is revealing your deep ignorance of genetics. 1 In 200 Men are direct descendants of Genghis Khan. The Y chromosome doesn’t get diluted.
2
@andrewhayes5724 Mitochondria doesn’t get diluted either. Some dna gets ‘watered down’ and some doesn’t, simply stating that it does is demonstrably wrong and just reveals your deep ignorance on the subject.
2
@saxoncelt9823 I haven’t said it would.
2
@jessicali8594 clearly the part of Mongolian ancestry residing in the Y chromosome is never gone dumbass.
2
While early, primitive external skull measurements may not have worked, forensic pathologists routinely use structures inside the skull to identify ethnicity.
2
Yes, they do. But they generally use more scientific measurements of smaller structures in the skull.
1
@JBroughton2 except it’s an example of how the Y chromosome doesn’t get ‘diluted’.
1
@tweakypoppy your claim is nonsense, you clearly know nothing about genetics. ‘Maleness’ is a fuzzy concept and isn’t the only information carried in the Y chromosome. Red/green colourblindness is specific to the Y chromosome, are you claiming that’s ’maleness’ ? 🤡
1
@JBroughton2 well if you read the other comments, there are endless idiots claiming that all dna gets diluted, my example of Genghis was to illustrate their error.
1
@tweakypoppy I know the Y determines the sex, but to claim that’s all it does is obviously ridiculous.
1
@tweakypoppy women do not have red/green colourblindness, simple fact, look it up. There is a green/blue colourblindness but it’s less common and occurs in both sexes. Many characteristics are scattered all over the genome so to claim a single chromosome is responsible for a single characteristic just reveals your ignorance.

Americans on average have 1/32 Native American ancestry. Elizabeth Warren famously considers herself Cherokee while only have 1/1024 Inca heritage, making her whiter than most whites 🤣
1
passius1 what part of ‘average’ do you not understand?
1
passius1 1) I never stated white Americans, I stated average Americans. 2) you’re welcome to provide your average figure for the WHOLE of the American population. You’re obviously an expert. 3) Latinos are 18% Native American and they are 20% of the total population so that alone makes the national average 3.6%
1
passius1 Let’s start again... I originally stated that ON AVERAGE Americans are 1/32 Native American. This includes... Ethnic Europeans Ethnic Africans Native Americans Hispanics/Latinos Etc... You immediately denied my figure and started going on about Europeans after the Civil War. What is your problem?
