The average car in the U.K. does less than 7,300 miles per year. That’s 20 miles/day. A Tesla-3 does 4 miles per kWh. That means it requires 5 kWh per day. The total generating capacity of the U.K. is 100 gW all the time, that’s 2,400 gWh per day. 32 million cars would require 160 gWh to recharge per day. That’s less than 7% of current capacity.
