A major problem in the U.K. is that the NHS has become a sacred cow that must be protected regardless of cost. This also explains the insane virtue signalling and cult-like behaviour in such practices as ‘clapping for the health workers’ who in reality are just doing the job they’re paid to do... ...and with a significant percentage of them being paid to do nothing all day because the part of the NHS they work in has been temporarily suspended due to Covid-19.

Raw numbers do not allow for the increase in population. In 1918 the U.K. population was around 43 million, it’s now around 65 million.

Not true, Covid-19 just isn’t that fatal. The only danger of allowing the transmission unchecked is that overwhelming the medical services leads to more deaths in the people who become critically ill - which is a low number.

It’s pretty obvious that many of the people who would have normally died in April 2021, died prematurely due to Covid-19 back in 2020.
