Uk birth certificates do not record ethnicity (neither do death certificates). Sometimes you can make an educated guess based on the name but it still won’t be certain.

Seems reasonable, but to be fair, the claim being questioned here, is if there was a stable community over two hundred years ago.

If these minority families with histories traceable for hundreds of years really existed then they would be trumpeted from the rooftops. This hasn’t happened, there’s a reason for that.

@deadcatbounce3124 Yes, I totally agree, my family and several others I know of have traced their families back to the mid 1700’s.

A lynching isn’t still a lynching when it was really a drowning.

@albanan1 Claiming a lynching doesn’t necessarily mean a hanging is disingenuous because: 1) Mostly it is. 2) People use the terms interchangeably 3) a person who drowns is normally described as drowned (as he was in the newspaper). Describing it as a lynching was done deliberately to be more emotive and mislead the reader.

@albanan1 you’re being disingenuous, everyone reading your comments can see you’re being disingenuous, the Wikipedia article is based on a biased article that totally misrepresents what really happened as detailed in the video.

The article look heavily biased to me, even going as far as stating ‘black preachers abounded’. Utter nonsense.
