  1. We know the Census publishes figures substantially below the real figures. But even taking those as true shows a clear trend. There were 1.6 million Muslims in England and Wales in 2001, or 3 per cent of the population, according to the census. By 2011 the Muslim population had grown to 2.7 million people or 4.8 per cent of the population. According to the National Population Survey (who openly admit their figures are too low due to the sampling methodology) the figure was 3.4 million in 2017. We don’t yet know the figure for 2021 (I suspect we never will). In the meantime the ‘indigenous’ population is falling rapidly because the ‘birth rate’ (fertility rate) is only 1.2 - this is the total lifetime children produced by a female. To sustain a steady population requires a birthrate of 2.0 (actually slightly more due to infant mortality etc.) The indigenous population is currently around 85% of the total (around 70 million), or around 60 million and falling. I estimate the indigenous population will be a minority by 2040.

  2. The U.K. government must already know the results of the 2021 Census to within +/- 5% of the final numbers, but I suspect they’ll delay the release for as long as possible.
