Comments by "Fred Bloggs" (@fredbloggs5902) on "TESLA BOT." video.
1) BD robots aren’t designed for mass production 2) BD appear to buy components from 3rd parties making their robots much more expensive 3) BD have prioritised the wrong things for 20 years, the AI is key, not the ability to do backflips 4) Tesla have stronger AI capability BD are doomed. (As is likely their parent company Hyundai).

@helmshardover you’re welcome to believe whatever you like. I don’t see many dogs building cars, or houses, or mowing lawns, etc.

@helmshardover most of the value is in replacing humans

Long term yes. Short term a margin of 50% on the bot itself will bring more revenue. Plus the bot specialised skills are likely to be provided by 3rd parties with Tesla taking a cut, like phone apps today.

Why sell them at all? Renting them out works better because it removes all risks (mainly repairs/maintenance) from the consumer.

Nah, bring me wine and THEN clean the toilets 😂

If they can make the bot for $10k and it lasts 10 years and works 24/7, they can rent it out for 23 cents/hour with a 100% profit margin.

While true, they’re already buying over 4 million chips a year, further savings won’t be large.
1
True, however what if you could rent it for 14 cents/hour?
1
Except software upgrade costs are spread across the entire bot population.
1
Agreed, I’m looking forward to hiring a bot to do my gardening for 14 cents/hour.

Go read the ‘Culture’ series by Iain M. Banks.
