  2. Henry Ford pioneered vertical integration and doing everything in-house. But there was a ridiculous push for focus on ‘core competency’ and outsourcing in the 80s, presumably the bright spark MBAs in Ford followed the fashion.

  8. I suspect Ford will lose money on every Mach-E they sell... ...But they’ll get bailed out by the government using taxpayers money, so they don’t care.

  9. Hybrids are a dead end, all the companies wasting time on them will be bankrupt within ten years. Tesla batteries will go 500,000 miles without significant degradation, then get repurposed for power arbitrage, then get recycled.
