You’re confusing the 250 Li/day of gaseous hydrogen produced by these panels with the liquid hydrogen used in cars which is 853x denser.

Fuel cells to convert hydrogen to electricity are still only 50% efficient even after a hundred years of development and are expensive and wear out. And photovoltaic panels have double the efficiency of these panels.
6
Yes he is, an error of nearly 1,000 x.

@desertdan100 you’re missing the point, the productivity of the panels is given in litres at STP (standard temperature and pressure) when it’s density is 0.083 g/Li. Sam then calculated the mass of hydrogen produced using the density of LIQUID hydrogen which is 71.1 g/Li. In my opinion the article quoted the yield by volume in a deliberate attempt to trick people into thinking it’s good. The key here is that the efficiency of the panels is half that of PVs, not 500x better.

He’s confused the gas with liquid hydrogen so he’s 500x out
2
@adriaanvantulpenbaard1740 hydrogen is hopelessly inefficient

Those disks are nonsense
1
It won’t work, Sam’s calculations have a major error.
1
In the U.K. less than 50% of electricity is generated from fossil fuels
1
No, it couldn’t, not remotely, go do the calculations.
1
Please correct the blatant errors in this video before you damage your channel any further.
1
Sam’s figures are out by 500x due to a simple error
1
It isn’t remotely going to help, go read the other comments
1
Except Sam got his figures out by 500x.
1
Wrong, they have half the efficiency of PVs.
1
The emphasis of petrol production from oil is largely a choice. Other uses are currently only around 3-5% but that could be easily increased.
1
Liquefaction of hydrogen is typically 70% efficient , distribution and other losses are around 90-95% efficient.
1
He confused gaseous hydrogen with liquid.
