  1. No, the actual doubling is for that specific technology which was 5%, it’s expected to double to 10% in the next 5-10 years. It’s only use is where weight is the critical factor.

  4. Totally misleading report, the ‘doubling’ is for the technology they’re using from 5% to an expected 10% in 5-10 years from now. We already have solar panels with efficiencies around 30% but they’re considered a bit heavy for space use.

  5. The key metric for Aptera is the power/area not power/weight. This new technology has 1/3 the power/area of conventional panels. That would reduce the range of Aptera from 40m/day to 13.
