Starlink satellites are in orbits so low that they automatically deorbit within 5 years. Virgin don’t even reach orbit at all. Neither does Bezos. This video is blatant fear mongering.

01:34 Most satellite phones currently use geostationary satellites in a precise high orbit at 22,300 miles that is strictly controlled. They very definitely aren’t remotely ‘LEO’ which is 1,200 miles and lower.

I went by train from Nairobi to Mombasa by train back in 1962. It’s around 280 miles, so doing the trip in 4 hours is a speed of 70mph. It’s not obvious to me what China has improved here.
3
If Israel wanted them gone, they’d be gone. They’re still here, therefore empirically you’re delusional.
2
@asr4327 Thanks for the channel, it looks interesting, mainly issues more relevant to India, but some are more general.
2
He has Asperger’s and has stated this publicly.
2
Geostationary satellites will be effectively obsolete within 10 years. Satellite TV can’t do live-streaming and will become like Cable is now.
2
If you think you can see satellites like that in a video then I gave a bridge to sell you. It’s a CGI simulation.

Agreed, the only real definition for LEO is that the atmospheric drag is low enough to be ignored for a few years, beyond that, all orbits work on the same principles.
1
Yes this video sadly is bordering on hysterical.
1
Yes, except that most of the claims here are nonsense.
1
They were concerned that insufficient analysis had been performed on the crashing starship prototypes - even though they had been told they were likely going to crash. They then delayed a launch because their inspector‘s flight got cancelled by fog. 🤣
1
The existing GPS system is currently being replaced by multiple systems. And ‘most of our infrastructure’ isn’t remotely dependent on GPS. You’re obviously an expert, please list the major infrastructures dependent on GPS.
1
It’s done by YouTube automatically, try again in a week.
1
How is that relevant to Elon who has been estranged from his father since the age of 18?
1
Your sense of time needs recalibrating.
1
Elon isn’t responsible for SA being a failed corrupt Marxist state. The average SA citizen is much poorer now than under apartheid. A simple example is the corrupt government refusing Starlink without getting substantial bribes.
1
Ridiculous nonsense, Elon is estranged from his abusive father, when he moved to Canada he had no money, when he moved to the US he was over $100k in debt from student loans.
1
Some historians argue against these figures, citing the lack of reliable censuses, the enormous mortality caused by smallpox and African trypanosomiasis.
1
Please provide your evidence for your claim.
1
@dawit9496 That sounds anecdotal to me. Most people claim to believe in something but in reality most of that is virtue signalling and utterly meaningless.
1
@dawit9496 I’m judging by what they do, not by what they say, you should try it.
1
It’s not just Africa... ...it’s EVERYWHERE
1
Please provide the evidence for your claim that rocket launches significantly damage the climate.
1
@LemberTheMember Well done, there’s only one problem... ...those numbers are insignificant.
1
@LemberTheMember I meant in comparison to Chinese coal fired power stations. It has nothing to do confidence levels, but thanks for playing.
1
@CraigButz Globalstar have 24 satellites Iridium have 66 So not your ‘more than 100’ then. Globalstar is only usable near a ground station, so half the planet can’t use it.
1
Haiti has been unstable since it was established.
1
Many now defunct satellites and ‘junk’ are worth millions to museums and private collectors.
1
You’re welcome to provide your figures.
1
@jasmikko thanks for the figures. Looks like you’re right. Treasury data shows Kenya owed China $7 billion as of December 2020, or 66% of bilateral debt.
1
Most of it is wrong.

@TheSionThomas All the newer internet-constellation satellite networks are being put into extremely low orbits where there isn’t anything else to crash into, their orbits are precisely known and without active control they deorbit automatically within 5 years. The chances of them colliding and producing a ‘Kessler Syndrome’ are very low, and even if they did, all we’d have to do it wait 5 years, and they’d all be gone. In addition, the danger from Kessler is only to those staying in the affected orbits, the chances of an incident when passing through that orbit is low - as fully documented in multiple sources including Wikipedia.
1
@TheSionThomas “...even a catastrophic Kessler scenario at LEO would pose minimal risk for launches continuing past LEO, or satellites travelling at medium Earth orbit (MEO) or geosynchronous orbit (GEO). The catastrophic scenarios predict an increase in the number of collisions per year, as opposed to a physically impassable barrier to space exploration...”. Source :Wikipedia, Kessler Syndrome.

Agreed, this video is blatant fear mongering.
1
Maybe you should do your own research, then you’d realise how misleading this video is.
1
@Timothy-yd3ph you’re too ignorant to know the difference between the truth and a troll, that’s quite pathetic really.
1
He worked for Vox?... ...Well that explains a lot! 🤣
1
There is no such ban.
1
All space traffic is carefully monitored and controlled by multiple governments.
1
They’re also in a very low orbit and deorbit in less than 5 years.
1
China are appalling, they keep dumping their spent upper stages into uncontrolled re-entry paths as well.
1
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
1
All Starlink satellites have exactly what you say should be required.
1
Musk openly posted about his relationship with AH, most famously the photo of her in a cosplay costume, go see for yourself.

Nobody cares
