  1. It’s occurred to me that (on the scale of WW2 mass production) Thompson magazines might have actually cost more to produce than an M3? Anybody know the numbers? (In 1945, Thompsons cost around 3x more than an M3).

  2. It’s certainly possible (though rare) for small arms to down a plane. I would think a rifle would be more likely.
