  1. The ‘Desert Rats’ were the 7th Armoured Division, I’m not sure they had much to do with special forces like the Long Range Desert Group. I’m also very confused about the LRDG vs. The SAS, some claim they’re related, others deny any link.

  2.  @clivemortimore8203  Ok, that makes sense. The LRDG probably had better maps and navigation skills (in the desert anyway).

  5. The use of pink for desert camouflage is allegedly ’borrowed’ originally from the French - by everybody since.
