@jonathanwaswrong3917 My values are just guesses based on me having conversations with two guys who work a small machine shop, if you have better sources for your $400 figure you’re welcome to provide them. Obviously if you’re a student at a tech college with free access to the required machinery you could maybe do something like this as a qualifying project because everything is essentially free. The moment you factor in the time taken to develop the prototype and the capital costs for the machinery, it gets very expensive very quickly.

A person with the skills to do that can probably earn around $100k/year just as an employee?

Maybe because one-off metal CNC would cost much more? I’m guessing $5,000 for 1 maybe $10,000 for 10 $50,000 for 100 Then you have advertise them and ship them.
