  1. Who'd have ever equated voting in America with survival? But that's pretty much what it has boiled down to, hasn't it? Survival of ourselves, survival of our democracy, survival of our nation, and survival of our planet. The irony is that Republicans have always tried to paint Democrats as an existential threat...but in doing so it is actually they who have become exactly that. Democrat voters need an even greater turnout in '22 and '24, put the final fork in Trumpism! Republicans want to engage in Jim Crow voter suppression laws, voter intimidation, and egregious gerrymandering? Republicans want to engage in corruption, gaslight their corruption, coverup their corruption? Republicans want to live in delusion and denial about the major problems confronting the nation and planet? Let's just prove that's fuel for the fire, and make their fascist antidemocratic corruption backfire on them!

Congressional Republicans just proved--once again--they are unwilling to operate in good faith, first in the House, now in the Senate, unwilling to even pass a BIPARTISAN commission to investigate the January 6 insurrection! Then, they filibustered EVEN debating the We the People Act, which has broad public support among both Democrats and Republicans! How many times does Lucy have to pull the football out at the last minute before Charlie Brown Manchin and Silly Sinema finally wise up? New voting rights protections sorely needed in the wake of new Republican Jim Crow legislation nationwide, a badly needed infrastructure and jobs bill, and numerous other pieces of critical legislation the Democrats want to pass don't stand a chance if the filibuster is allowed to stand. If Republicans are going to abuse the filibuster, then it's time to LOSE THE FILIBUSTER!!!

  3. Climate change WAS the greatest threat to America. Currently it is domestic terrorism from the fascist Republican cult, according to U.S. intelligence agencies. Should the fascist Republican cult continue destroying our democracy----particularly if they regain power----there will be not only be little left of our country, but there will definitely not be any significant U.S. action on climate change. The infrastructure bill should go through reconciliation, as Republicans have removed both needed infrastructure programs and climate change provisions in the compromise proposal. Putting off either until some nebulous "later" time is NOT an option if we want to revive our nation and save the planet from catastrophe.

  4. Manchin does not represent his constituents, does not represent Democrats. Instead he is knowingly and willingly fueling the cynicism Americans have about Congress and our government, destroying our cherished institutions he falsely claims to be protecting, while betraying his oath of office. Americans don't want gridlock in D.C.; they want actions that improve our lives and nation! Moreover, nobody is buying Manchin's excuse that this is about bipartisanship, given that Republicans have repeatedly demonstrated that they have no sincere interest in bipartisanship, nor any willingness to operate in good faith. We all see clearly that Manchin is putting his own self-interest before the what is best for the country, and what is the point of him getting reelected if he's just promoting and perpetuating gridlock in Washington?

It's not even really placing party before country, because they don't really care about the GOP, either, which is evidenced by their destruction of it; they only use that as a convenient vehicle to grift their voters and us taxpayers.
