Bob Woodward talks about the "average American," but ignores how decades of round-the-clock programming through Reich-wing media like Faux News and social media platforms like Facebook have transformed a third of Americans into an ignorant tribalistic partisan mob that eschews facts, reason, science, and even democracy--unless only when or where they can momentarily benefit their purpose in gaining and holding minority power. As a result, there is no more "average American." Now, we have sane Americans...and a mindless proto-fascist Republican cult living in an alternate reality bubble world. Which is why this coming election is a battle for the soul of America--a battle likely to continue afterwards, regardless of the outcomes.

Suspect what will be most remarkable to future generations is not the Traitor-‘n-‘Thief, Toxic Trump, so much—although his name will surely be enshrined in infamy for the ages—as it is and will be the Republican so-called leaders and cult that enabled him and supported a racist, misogynist, xenophobic, homophobic, bigoted, narcissistic, sociopathic, moronic, divisive, anti-democratic raving lunatic and his corruption, a man compromised by foreign nations, including our principle adversary, through his tremendous debt. Between that, his catastrophic, irresponsible handling of COVID-19, and his incitement of anti-democratic violent Reich-wing groups, Trump has made himself America's #1 most serious national security threat. A decade or two down the road, Trump is likely to be viewed as a tragic Hitleresque figure; a victim of himself, mental illness, and his upbringing, who should have never been put in a position to victimize others, and who should have been removed long before being allowed to victimize so many others.
